Use the calculating function of oscilloscope to analyze the hot plug circuit
The calculation function of digital oscilloscope is one of the most interesting functions of digital oscilloscope, which can simplify and expand the analysis of hot-swapping-load switching circuit.Using the calculating function of oscilloscope, we can get the instantaneous power consumption of load capacitance or MOSFET when switching on and off. These parameters are very meaningful for the design and analysis of hot swap and load switching circuit. Without the calculating function of oscilloscope, such parameters can only be estimated approximately.

Simplicity, we use MAX5976 hotplug circuit to do demonstration, its built-in galvanometer function and with driving MOSFET constitute a complete switch power supply circuit (the following test method is also applicable to by discrete component a hotplug control circuit) connect the oscilloscope probe to the hotplug circuit, the oscilloscope can be required to calculate the signal, two voltage probe to the input and output, respectively used to detect voltage on both ends of the MOSFET, current through the MOSFET current probe to detect.
