The distortion is relatively large, because digital oscilloscope is through waveform sampling to display, the smaller the number of sampling points, the bigger the distortion is, usually there are 512 sampling points in the horizontal direction, limited by the maximum sampling rate, and there are fewer sampling points in the fastest scanning speed and nearby, so the distortion is larger at high speed.
Measuring complex signal ability is poor, due to the limited digital oscilloscope sampling points and the lack of the change of the brightness, make many waveform details can not be displayed, although some may have two or more brightness level, but this is only a relative sense of difference, plus oscilloscope limited display resolution, it still cannot reproduce the effect of analog display.
False and confounding waveforms may occur, and when the sampling clock frequency is lower than the signal frequency, the waveforms displayed may not be the actual frequency and amplitude.The bandwidth of digital oscilloscope is closely related to the sampling rate.
